Author of Poem "Invictus"

May I remind you of a line in the poem "Invictus" that has sustained me in moments of extreme stress:

It matters not how strait the gate
How charged with punishment the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Our lives today are constantly inpinged with dire warnings from this or that politician.  Our lives, in fact may already be experiercing extreme difficulties.  In my life, when I am in a bad way for this or that reason, I remind myself that:

I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

It is our own individual life.  We get to decide.  I decide to laugh.  Join me!  Get yourself a good cup of coffee, no sugar or cream, black like God intended, sit back and enjoy a chuckle.

Moe: "My wife got me to believe in religion"
Joe: "Really?"
Moe: "Yeah, until I married her I didn't believe in hell!"

A man is recovering from surgery
when a Surgical Nurse appears and
asks him how he is feeling.

"I'm O.K. but I didn't like the four letter word
the doctor use in surgery," he answered.

"What did he say," asked the nurse.

The graveside service just barely finished,
when there was a massive clap of thunder,
followed by a bolt of lightning,
accompanied by even more thunder rumbling in the distance....

The little old man looked at the pastor and calmly said,

"Well, she's there."

Oh, for goodness sake...laugh,
or at least groan.
Life's too short not to enjoy......

These jokes, and many more, were all emailed to me.
Got a funny you'd care to share?
(My email address in my profile)

God bless you and your's
