When you feel that you have reached the end and that you cannot go one step
further, when life seems to be drained of all purposes;
what a wonderful opportunity to start all over again,to turn over a new page

|Cousin Minny Pearl|
Sarah Ophelia Colley was born just over 100 years ago in Centerveille, Tennessee. In 1938 she first appeared on The Grand Ole Opera as the now-iconic Cousin Minny Pearl. She went on to entertain generations of fans on television and on the stage around the world.
Although Sarah was a graduate of one of the South's finest "finishing schools", in her character of Cousin Minny Pearl she was a country pumpkin who could never get herself a boyfriend.
She always came on stage shouting "How-dee! I'm jes' so proud to be here!"
Repeating the twisted and tangled episodes of Minny Pearl still brings joy to me in the telling and in those in my audiences as I speak for dinner groups or MC my jug band.
LIKE COUSIN MINNY, I'M JES' SO PROUD TO BE HERE!
|Walt writing first blog|
It has been a year since I wrote my last blog. It would be disingenuous not to explain the long lapse. The reason certainly is not because I did not appreciate the thousands of readers who read my blog each month from across the country and around the world. A dearly loved family member was offended at a blog I thought was quite benign. It was labeled as The Good Life. Aghast of any action that would lead to agnst in the family, I stopped writing. Trusting that time has assuaged the injury, I will again commence to blog.
You don't choose your family.
They are God's gift to you, as you are to them
