DECLINE IN STUDY OF AMERICAN HISTORY: What Kids Don't Know

You might find your life's destination better if you understand
OUR CHILDREN WILL NOT KNOW OUR FOUNDING FATHERS
PLEDGED THEIR LIVES, THEIR FORTUNES AND THEIR SCARED HONOR

THE MOST EFFECTIVE WAY TO DESTROY PEOPLE IS TO DENY AND
OBLITERATE THEIR OWN UNDERSTANDING OF THEIR HISTORY
George Orwell

I visited here in 1989
In shockingly graphic detail at ceremonies marking Austria's annexation by Germany 75 years ago, the son of an anti-Nazi activist recounted how his stepmother found his father's guillotined head after the end of World War II.

Austrians have moved from claiming to be Hitler's first victims instead to having been committed Hitler's henchmen.

WHILE AMERICAN HISTORY IS BEING DISTORTED OR DISTROYED
BEAUTIFUL AUSTRIA IS ACKNOWLEDGING THEIR'S

We are no longer teaching American history to remember and commemorate all those who gave their lives to preserve the liberties and freedoms we cherish as Americans.  It is an affront to the legacy of Washington and his army at Valley Forge, the valor, suffering and determination of those on the Beaches of Normandy or of the unmitigated courage of Flight 93. The words "Narcissism" and "Ingratitude" comes to mind.

THE U.S. CONSTITUTION DOES NOT GUARANTEE HAPPINESS,
ONLY THE PURSUIT OF IT - Benjamin Franklin

Make no mistake about it, the denigration of history, in my view, will have dire ramifications on our children as they grow up ignorant and unaware of the essential beliefs which has been the guide posts of our nation for nearly 300 years. They will not know that our founding fathers pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to create the America we take for granted.

Our children will not know of Americans desperate struggle to survive in the Battle of the Bulge in World War II.
They will know nothing of the price that was paid for a small island in the Pacific called Iwo Jima.

The warriors of "The Greatest Generation" are nearly all gone, my brothers Henry and Ray are. Who is there to tell?

DO NOT PRAY FOR EASY LIVES; PRAY FOR STRONGER MEN.
John F. Kennedy

Results from the National Assessment of Educational Progress indicate that only 13% of the nation's high school seniors showed proficiency in their knowledge of American history.  That being said, heaven help you if you challenge our educators.  Thank goodness for those few who are doing just that at great political risk.  They deserve your active support.

DON'T EXPECT TO BUILD UP THE WEAK BY PULLING DOWN THE STRONG
Calvin Coolidge

Thank you, Mrs. Leta B. Foglesong, for teaching me to love American History.  You gave me a good foundation upon which I have built a meaningful life.

GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR'S

GOD BLESS THE USA
