With hanging baskets, iron skillets and railroad lanterns, my kitchen looks like one from my childhood, very homey with a little bit of Alice-in-wonderland.

One of the children has a sign from their childhood kitchen that said "Clean enough to be Healthy, Dirty enough to be Happy".  That pretty much states my thoughts for a happy home.
