THE GOOD OLD SUMMERTIME:  Yeah!

THE GOOD LIFE   THE GOOD LIFE   THE GOOD LIFE   THE GOOD LIFE

A PERFECT SUMMER DAY IS WHEN THE SUN IS SHINING, THE BREEZE IS BLOWING AND THE LAWN MOWER IS BROKEN - James Dent

PRIDE MUST BE A SUMMER THING BECAUSE IT "COMES BEFORE THE FALL"

Although fall is my favorite time of the year, I dearly love the summer time.  Once in my lifetime, I enjoyed the cold.  Now I need the summer heat to thaw out.  Today is the last day of June and the Fourth of July is this coming Saturday.  Hooray!
In the news this morning is a call from the extreme left to replace the stars and stripes, Old Glory.  This following the elimination of the Confederate Battle Flag.  Although my great grandfather was wounded in battle while serving in the union army during the Civil War, I had no problem with the flying of the Confederate Flag.  I have a serious problem with any thought of replacing the stars and stripes.

HOW THEY DANCE IN THE COURTYARD, SWEET SUMMER SWEAT. SOME DANCE TO REMEMBER, WOME DANCE TO FORGET

LAKE ANNA
The city of Barberton, Ohio is built around beautiful, spring fed Lake Anna.  My 1904 home is one block off the lake.  It is a mile around the lake and a perfect place to walk, and people do. The town seemingly just sprang up like magic, hence the name Magic City.  The city founder, Ohio Columbus Barber, laid the city out with churches at each corner of the lake.

I LOVE HOW SUMMER JUST WRAPS IT'S ARMS AROUND YOU LIKE A WARM BLANKET

Flowers, lots and lots of flowers.  In all humbleness, something for which I am not known, I say that our yard is the most beautiful in the community, thanks entirely to my wife, Julie.  A flower bed under a bird bath, a water fall into a small pond, trees and shrubs and flowers everywhere all come together in the summer time.

IT'S A SMILE, IT'S A KISS, IT'S SUMMERTIME

I love to cook, and it is so enjoyable at the moment because we have a house guest for a few days.  For dinner tonight I am making a Julia Child special, egg and pickled beet salad.  Also, Creamed Chicken on a biscuit with potato pancakes, the latter made from last night's left over mashed potatoes.  Tomorrow for breakfast I am going to have biscuits and fried apples.  Yum Yum good!  Washed down with strong, black coffee, of course!

SOME OF THE BEST MEMORIES ARE MADE IN FLIP FLOPS

What would summer be without fried green tomatoes?  Or, fried squash?  Or, fresh picked corn on the cob?  Or lots and lots of vine ripened tomatoes?  And, cucumbers and fresh green onions.  And that wonderful charcoal grill cooked food, I really love sausage cooked on the grill.  And, nothing is as refreshing as ice cold lemonade made with fresh squeezed lemons.

Yes, fall is my favorite time of the year, but the good old summer time is hard to beat!

Oh, Yes!  I forgot to mention farmer's markets where fresh fruit and vegetables can be bought cheaper than they can be raised.

Hip hip hurrah for summer!

PARENTS PACK UP THEIR TROUBLES AND SEND THEM OFF TO SUMMER CAMP

GOD BLESS YOU AND YOURS THIS SUMMER

                                    GOD BLESS THE USA
