A PERFECT SUMMER DAY IS WHEN THE SUN IS SHINING, THE BREEZE IS BLOWING AND THE LAWN MOWER IS BROKEN - James Dent
PRIDE MUST BE A SUMMER THING BECAUSE IT "COMES BEFORE THE FALL"
Although fall is my favorite time of the year, I dearly love the summer time. Once in my lifetime, I enjoyed the cold. Now I need the summer heat to thaw out. Today is the last day of June and the Fourth of July is this coming Saturday. Hooray!
In the news this morning is a call from the extreme left to replace the stars and stripes, Old Glory. This following the elimination of the Confederate Battle Flag. Although my great grandfather was wounded in battle while serving in the union army during the Civil War, I had no problem with the flying of the Confederate Flag. I have a serious problem with any thought of replacing the stars and stripes.

I LOVE HOW SUMMER JUST WRAPS IT'S ARMS AROUND YOU LIKE A WARM BLANKET
Flowers, lots and lots of flowers. In all humbleness, something for which I am not known, I say that our yard is the most beautiful in the community, thanks entirely to my wife, Julie. A flower bed under a bird bath, a water fall into a small pond, trees and shrubs and flowers everywhere all come together in the summer time.
IT'S A SMILE, IT'S A KISS, IT'S SUMMERTIME

SOME OF THE BEST MEMORIES ARE MADE IN FLIP FLOPS
What would summer be without fried green tomatoes? Or, fried squash? Or, fresh picked corn on the cob? Or lots and lots of vine ripened tomatoes? And, cucumbers and fresh green onions. And that wonderful charcoal grill cooked food, I really love sausage cooked on the grill. And, nothing is as refreshing as ice cold lemonade made with fresh squeezed lemons.
Yes, fall is my favorite time of the year, but the good old summer time is hard to beat!
Oh, Yes! I forgot to mention farmer's markets where fresh fruit and vegetables can be bought cheaper than they can be raised.
Hip hip hurrah for summer!
