A NEW TRADITION: Casa del Rio

HAPPINESS IS HAVING A LARGE, LOVING, CARING, CLOSE-KNIT FAMILY IN ANOTHER CITY - George Burns

SOUTH OF THE BORDER, DOWN MEXICO WAY. THAT'S WHEN I FELL IN LOVE WHEN STARS ABOVE CAME OUT TO PLAY

When one steps into the front door of the Casa del Rio restaurant in Wadsworth, Ohio, it is immediately apparent that your's will not be an ordinary experience.  Although all the tables, chairs and booths are new and designed for this restaurant, from the art work to the glaring color of the walls, one can imagine that they are in the colorful land of Mexico.

FAMILY IS NOT AN IMPORTANT THING, IT IS EVERYTHING - M.J. Fox

This is a picture of 12 of my family having dinner tonight at the Casa del Rio.  We have now been gathering there a couple times a year for several years.  Missing from the group is Riley, the youngest grandson and the most faithful to enjoy this great establishment.  He is enjoying a few weeks in San Diego visiting family there.  We have already named the date for our next gathering here, on Valentine's Day, 2016.  Something to anticipate.
ONE OF THE THINGS THAT BINDS US TOGETHER IS
 A SHARED SENSE OF HUMOR

TODD, KIMBERLY AND MARK
Having all three of my children, and their spouses present, was truly appreciated.  Todd and Amy had planned to do a camp out but bad weather changed their minds.  They drove all the way from Cincinnatti, Mark drove from Mansfield and Kimberly from nearby Massillon.  Attending for the first time was my first grandchild, Jennifer, and her three children.  The youngest, and my namesake, Walsine the Younger, slept through dinner.

FAMILY IS LIKE A RUNNY PEACH PIE.  IT'S NOT PERFECT BUT
WHO'S COMPLAINING - Robert Brault

14-year-old DELANEY ROSE PIERCE BOGGS

The family has celebrated a number of birthdays at the Casa del Rio.  This time it is was for Grandpa's little "Rosebud".  She is now 14 and received cards and gifts from each family.  After placing this hat on her head and giving her a birthday treat, a dozen or so of the Mexicans blew horns, banged pots and sang Happy Birthday in Spanish.

A HAPPY FAMILY IS BUT AN EARLIER HEAVEN - G.B. Shaw
The Pierce family has a lot of traditions.  I have many favorites.  One is to "Never let the truth get in the way of a good story".  My absolute favorite, however, is that the entire family responds to Kimberly and Jack's invitation to a weekend of fun at their house at Christmas time.

I DON'T CARE HOW POOR A MAN IS; IF HE HAS FAMILY HE IS RICH

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL

MAY GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY WITH RICH TRADITIONS

GOD BLESS THE USA
