I OFTEN JOKE THAT 100 YEARS FROM NOW I HOPE PEOPLE ARE SAYING "DANG, SHE LOOKS GOOD FOR HER AGE" - Dolly Parton

Sure, they had Recreational Vehicles (RVs) a hundred years ago.  Only then they were called LAND YACHTs.  This one made above the fold, center page news.  Why?  It crossed the country.  Wow!  You must remember that 100 years ago in all the country there were only 144 miles of paved roads.  Speed limits were a shattering 12 MPH.

A HUNDRED YEARS AGO MOVIES WERE BLACK AND WHITE AND SILENT.  SO, WHAT WILL THEY BE A HUNDRED YEARS FROM NOW?

MODEL T FORD

There was this guy named HENRY FORD who thought he could make a horseless carriage and that people would pay $400 for it.  He was nuts!  You could buy a fine horse for $25 and you know he would start every time.  And, gasoline?  What's wrong with hay or turning the horse loose in the pasture.  NAH!  Nothing will ever come of the "automobile".

YOU HAVE TO BE BORN A SEX SYMBOL, YOU DON'T BECOME ONE.  IF YOU'RE BORN WITH IT, YOU'LL HAVE IT EVEN WHEN YOU'RE 100 YEARS OLD - Sophia Loren

America still had an armed cavalry 100 years ago, but there was something new called a TANK.  Yes, it was one UGLY DUCKLING but that was about to change.  A young man, born in 1885, was assigned as the first Commander of the AMERICAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE TANK CORPS name George Smith Patton.  He would quickly make it the most feared force in the world.  His father and grandfather were hero's of the American Revolution and American Civil Wars.  George would join their ranks as a true hero with the tank force in World Wars I and II.  To the Nazi's he was the most feared officer in the Allied armies, and for good reason.

WE NEED TO SPREAD OUT NOW IN THE UNIVERSE.  I THINK IN 100 YEARS WE'LL BE LIVING ON OTHER PLANETS - Neil Young

ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO

*  The American flag had 45 stars
*  Only 2 out of 10 could read and write
*  Only 6% of Americans graduated from high school
